Project Life

Church members were urged to exercise their right and responsibility as citizens to write letters to their Representatives. The objective was to persuade a majority in the U.S. House of Representatives to support pro-life legislation. Dioceses across the country responded enthusiastically, as did such Catholic lay groups as Catholic Daughters of the Americas, Knights of Columbus, National Council of Catholic Women, Catholic Golden Age, and Daughters of Isabella. By the end of 1992, Project Life participants had sent almost 725,000 pro-life messages to Congress, helping to maintain all federal pro-life policies during those years.
